While ‘Ulu at the Four Seasons undergoes an upgrade, Sushi Robata has opened up at King’s Pond at Four Seasons Hualalai and we got one of the first experiences of it just days after it opened!
Setting
The location at King’s Ponds offers a variety of seating locations that all offer unique experiences. The first areas are located towards the top of the pond area and offer nice views that overlook the pond as well as you can still enjoy those amazing Hawaiian sunset views. The next area was where we had the opportunity to sit and that was next to the pond and is a feet in the sand experience as your table in located on a thin layer of sand. If you have kids, this is the place to sit. Our children enjoyed watching the different fish and manta rays swim by as we ate. The last seating area is at pond level, but behind the tables that are just off the pond. These offer nice gazebo style setups with wood flooring for those that may not like the feet in the sand experience as much.
Cuisine
As the name eludes to, you will enjoy a selection of sushi similar to what ‘Ulu offered as well as robata. There is a selection of maki sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. There is also a small selection of appetizers. Our favorites are the ahi tartare and the kanpachi carpaccio. Both of these are great! As far as the robata goes, there are a variety of offerings from the land such as A5 waygu, Puna chicken, and much more. There is also a variety of offerings from the ocean such as lobster tails, scallops, kampachi, and Kona prawns. There is a small selection of sides to enjoy as well if you would like. The dessert menu is relatively small, but the staff was accommodating to offer a few items for the children that were not on the menu. There was a good children’s menu with a variety of offerings that children love.
Drink Menu
There is a 1 page drink menu that includes all the typical Hawaiian favorites such as the famous ‘Ulu mai tai and many more. They also offer house made mocktails such as a raspberry lemonade. There is also a nice selection of champagnes, white wines, as well as red wines. If there is something not on this menu that you would like I am sure they will accommodate you.
The food and ambiance is excellent if you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a light meal and cocktails. Based on the menu being centered on sushi and robata if you are looking for a large meal, it may not be the place for you. If you are staying at the Four Seasons Hualalai, we highly recommend spending one evening at Sushi Robata by ‘Ulu.
